A solid 27-9 victory for Ruakura B (Mens Div 5) team at home to Frankton A.
Lief beat Steve Duffy (C1) 3-1: 12/15, 15/10, 15/11, 15/8. A bit rusty at the start but Lief dug deep against a very similar player to ensure we had points on the board early.
Warren beat Tony Hall (C1) 3-0: 15/8, 15/11, 16/14. Although at 12/6 up in the 3rd Warren did come agonisingly close to dropping it.
Matt beat Roger Salisbury (C1) 3-0: 15/9, 15/7, 15/10. Convincing captains knock to see us through to the final early in the evening. This was the best I have played all season and the hard games over the weekend paid off.
Kane beat Steve Corkill (C1) 3-2: 11/15, 15/12, 15/3, 12/15, 15/13. No doubt this was the match of the night. Great win Kane and good for you to have a tough match before the finals.
5 Barry lost to Ian Jackson (C2) 0-3: 6/15, 12/15, 10/15. Barry not playing at his best, struggled to get into his groove
The guys from the Frankton A team as always where fantastic sports, and a pleasure to host. Great to see a bit of support from the rest of the team and spectators,
Next week home final against either Leamington or Matamata.

Hi Interclub Players,
With the first round of Spring interclub completed here is an update of where our teams are standing. It’s looking good for most teams to reach the playoffs. A reminder to also enter Club Champs (see Neville Amyes’ previous message for details) if you haven’t already done so, either by emailing me or writing your name on the entry form at the club. Entries close on Sept 8th.
Good luck for the rest of the season!

Hi Interclub Players,

Welcome to the 2010 interclub season! You should’ve already been contacted by your team captain as play gets underway next Tuesday 23rd March. We have four teams in Divisions 2, 5, 7 and 10 and the full draw can be found on the Squash Waikato website www.squashwaikato.co.nz, along with rules for this competition and other useful info.

A few other reminders….

(1) Competitive subs for the coming season are due by April 9th–see the general mailout from Neville Amyes about payment options.

(2) If you haven’t already registered on the new Squash NZ grading list website (www.squashnz.co.nz and click on orange grading list button) please do so, otherwise your results might not be recorded. Contact me to get your initial username and password for this site if you are a current graded player.

(3) Club nights have started on Thursdays from 5.30pm. A good way to get some extra court time and games in between interclub.

(4) Our B-grade tournament is coming up from 8th-10th April. Enter on the list at the club, online at www.squashwaikato.co.nz (under tournaments) or email me your details.

Happy Squashing!

Hi Interclub Players,
Capping off a great round-robin Winter interclub season for the club’s mens’ teams we have three home semi-finals this Tuesday evening (29th), with Team D also in the running for a pennant in their final night top of the table Div 10 clash away at Leamington.

Teams A and B have finished second in Divs 2 and 5 whilst Team C have swept all before them, remaining unbeaten in the round-robin and topping Div 7. Because both Teams B and C are hosting Morrinsville teams, Team A has graciously agreed to play their “home” semi at Lugton Park.

Best of luck to all teams for Tuesday and the finals. Go Ruakura!!

Cheers,
Ken.

Yes folks, it is time to renew your Ruakura Squash Club subscription!! There are 2 two ways in which you can do this:
- Come down to the club on March 18th, 25th and April 1st with your subs and a membership convenor will sort you out.
- Fill out page 1 of the 2010 membership form - Squash & RCC 2010 (includes RCC part for payment if required) and return to Alison Popay ASAP.
Many of you are not current members of the RCC. RCC subs for the 2009/10 year must be paid for your Squash Club membership to be valid. You may enclose your
RCC subscription ($40) when you pay your squash fees but these must be on separate cheques.
Some members have paid their Squash sub when they paid their RCC sub late last year.
Internet banking is available, please contact Alison Popay -
alison.popay@agresearch.co.nz for details. If you pay by internet, you must send an email to Alison informing her of your payment and including your contact details.
Please note that 2010 subscriptions need to be paid by April 9th 2010. Failure to do so will result in access cards being deactivated and interclub players being stood down.
